El país de Donkey Kong (1996) es una serie animada en 3D basada en el videojuego clásico de Nintendo y Rare. Fue emitida en México por Fox Kids Latinoamérica y destacó por ser una de las primeras caricaturas en utilizar tecnología de captura de movimiento para animación por computadora.
La historia se desarrolla en la Isla Kongo Bongo, donde Donkey Kong debe proteger el legendario Coco de Cristal de villanos como el Rey Kruel y el Capitán Skurvy. Acompañado por Diddy, Cranky, Candy y otros personajes del universo de Nintendo, la serie mezcla comedia tropical, acción caricaturesca y referencias al videojuego original. Con 40 episodios divididos en dos temporadas, esta producción franco-canadiense se convirtió en un ícono retro por su estética digital, su doblaje latino y su vínculo directo con la cultura gamer de los noventa.
