La historia comienza cuando Gohan y Videl liberan a Tapion de una caja musical, creyendo que es un guerrero legendario. Sin saberlo, también liberan a Hildegarn, un monstruo ancestral dividido en dos mitades. Tapion guarda una parte del monstruo en su cuerpo, y la otra comienza a destruir Ciudad Satán. Goku, Gohan, Trunks y los demás deben enfrentarse a esta amenaza colosal. La película culmina con el uso del Ryūken, el Puño del Dragón, una técnica legendaria que Goku desata en un momento épico. Es una joya retro cargada de emoción, música y mitología Saiyajin.
